“Currently I am working on refining my pots, searching for beautiful proportions in both form and glaze application. I am also exploring the idea of function in ceramics. People view art differently depending on context. Simply hanging a functional pot on the wall can change the viewer’s perceptions of its “function”. I believe these small jolts to our thought patterns are an important part of the role art plays in society”.
Jim is lucky enough to make his home and studio in the Columbia River Gorge. He works as a full time studio potter.
